How to install LingFit on an Android phone, step by step
In short
- You download LingFit from Google Play, the app shop on Android phones.
- You need a Google account to sign in, which most Android users already have.
- The app is free to download; to learn you'll need a subscription later.

Most phones that aren’t iPhones run on Android. That’s the operating system (the phone’s basic software) made by Google. Phones from Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola and many others use it. In this guide you’ll install LingFit on one of those phones, step by step.
Android phones look a little different depending on the maker. But the basic steps are the same everywhere. We give the button names as they appear on a phone set to English.
What you need
- An Android phone or tablet with the Google Play app (also called the “Play Store”).
- A Google account (more on that in the next section).
- Wi-Fi (wireless internet at home). It’s faster and saves your mobile data.
- A bit of free storage space.
- About ten minutes.
What is a Google account?
A Google account is your personal sign-in with Google. It usually consists of an email address ending in “@gmail.com” and a password. You use this account to download apps from Google Play and to pay there.
If you’ve downloaded apps from Google Play before, you already have a Google account. It’s set up on your phone. You don’t need to create a new one.
LingFit uses this account for signing in to the app too. So you don’t need a new password.
What it costs
Installing is free. To learn you’ll need a subscription (a regular payment that renews until you cancel). The yearly plan starts with a seven-day free trial. We haven’t been able to check the prices on Google Play. Google Play shows you the exact price before you confirm anything. For comparison: in the American App Store the yearly plan cost 44.99 US dollars on 10 October 2026.
How to install LingFit
- Open Google Play. The icon is a colourful triangle arrow pointing to the right.
- Tap the search box at the top. On some phones you first tap Search at the bottom, with the magnifying glass.
- Type “LingFit” and tap the magnifying glass on the keyboard, or press Enter.
- Pick the right entry. The icon shows an orange fox. Entries with the word “Ad” or “Sponsored” are adverts for other apps.
- Tap “Install”. A green bar shows how far the download has got.
- Wait until “Install” turns into the Open button.
- Tap “Open”. LingFit starts.
Your first steps in the app
- Fitty Fox, the fox mascot, greets you.
- Choose your language and the language you want to learn.
- Answer the short questions, for example about your level and your daily learning time.
- The phone may ask whether LingFit can send notifications (small reminders at the top of the screen). Choose Allow or Don’t allow. You can change this later.
- Sign in with Google. A window shows your Google account. Tap it. Done.
You can read more about the app on the official LingFit website.
Where the app lives afterwards
On Android, new apps don’t always land on the home screen. The home screen is the screen you see after unlocking.
- Open the app drawer: Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen. You’ll now see all your apps, usually sorted alphabetically.
- Find LingFit: Look under “L” or use the search box at the top.
- Put it on the home screen: Press and hold the LingFit icon. Drag it upwards until the home screen appears, then let go. On some phones there’s an Add to Home button for this.
If someone else is helping you
Maybe a family member installs the app for you. That’s a good idea. Watch out for three things:
- The app should be downloaded with your Google account. Otherwise a later subscription will run through the wrong account.
- Ask them to show you where subscriptions live in Google Play: profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. That way you can cancel by yourself later.
- Note down the day the trial starts. Then you’ll know when the first payment is due.
A small note with these details next to the phone saves a lot of searching later. Write down your Google address too, but never your password.
Good to know
- The sign-in window sometimes shows several Google accounts. Choose the account you want to pay with as well.
- The trial only starts when you expressly begin the yearly plan. Installing on its own starts nothing.
- If you delete the app, a subscription does not end automatically. You cancel in Google Play under your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- You’ll usually find larger text for the whole phone under Settings → Display → Font size. The exact name depends on the maker.
- According to Google Play, LingFit is rated for teenagers and adults (“Teen”).
If something goes wrong
- “Install” doesn’t respond: Check your internet connection. Turn the phone off and on again.
- Google Play says there isn’t enough storage: Under Settings → Storage you can see what’s taking up space. Delete old photos or apps you don’t use.
- The app doesn’t appear in search: Your device may be too old or not supported. Google Play then shows a message like “Your device isn’t compatible with this version”.
- You no longer know your Google password: On Google’s sign-in page, tap “Forgot password?” and follow the steps.
- Question for the maker: Write to [email protected].
